Climbing New Heights in Hiring: The Summiteers Employee Referral Scheme

That’s why we’re proud to have introduced Summiteers, our uniquely rewarding employee referral scheme, designed to reflect who we are: people-focused and community-minded, and future-driven.
How the Summiteers scheme works
The Summiteers scheme enables team members to refer potential new colleagues to be considered for roles across the Group through our rigorous local recruitment process.
If successfully recruited by Summit Group, the referring team member is financially rewarded and, in a powerful show of commitment to our values, is also given the opportunity to select a registered local charitable cause to receive a £1,000 donation from Summit Group.
More than just a hiring tool, the Summiteers scheme empowers our people across all our locations to bring new colleagues to their teams and make a positive impact in their local communities where it matters most.
A scheme that reflects our values
“We’ve listened to feedback from our teams and have created a market-differentiating scheme that reflects our Summit Group values and enables us to directly support the local communities we live in by providing employment opportunities and supporting charitable causes. It’s great to get the chance to thank and reward our people as well as benefit the communities they live in,” explains Gill Baker, Chief People Officer. “People have connections to charities for all sorts of personal reasons and it’s fantastic to be able to contribute to their lives in this way.”
The Summiteers scheme has already made a meaningful impact. In Guernsey, Claira de Jersey, Trust Manager at Summit Trust Guernsey, became one of the first to benefit by referring a new colleague to the Group.
“The Summiteers scheme is such a good initiative,” Claira says. “It helps us bring the best people to the Group to enhance our capability and service to our clients, whilst also giving back to the community.”
Claira chose to divide the £1,000 donation between two Guernsey-registered charities: the Cardiac Action Group and Dementia Friendly Guernsey. “Both of these charities supported a member of my family during a challenging time and are very close to my heart,” she adds.
